Health is wealth is  a very common saying and it is really nothing short of the truth. The world is getting crazier by the day with busy schedules, nearly impossible to meet deadlines and the never ending bills. Sometimes it seems we even struggle to catch a breathe! Paying attention to one's health is like a luxury most people cannot afford, it could be both money and time consuming. Our well being and state of health is the most important part of our lives, so important that if anything goes wrong with it, the seemingly never ending schedules will stop and we feel a shift in our lives.Yes it is that big of a deal. Waiting until something goes wrong before paying attention to what's going on in our body is like a ticking  time bomb waiting to go off. Before a car breaks down it must have been giving off signs of faults which the owner either did not notice or decided to neglect. Alas, the car breaks down on a day we could not afford to be late. You know all those oiling, washing and cleaning to make sure the car is in good shape, the body needs just as much attention if not more to be healthy.

Health is a state of complete physical, mental, psychological and social well being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. For a person to be called healthy all of the fore mentioned must be functioning optimally.  Let's take a look at these aspects of health or well being.

The Physical health focuses on all the various parts of the body, the internal organs, the sense organs and every other part of the body. Regular exercise, good balanced diet, regular medical check-up, adequate rest and sleep are precautions usually advised by doctors to keep the body healthy and in condition.

The psychological health or the emotional health focuses on thoughts ,feelings and behaviour of individuals. It is an aspect of health that is usually overlooked. A physically healthy person can be emotionally sick maybe as a result of a failed romantic relationship or a huge disappointment and can only be detected only on close observation. Our emotional health needs optimum attention and care. A happy person tends to work towards achieving goals, enjoying life and making good use of available opportunities unlike a very sad an devastated person.

The Mental health refers to individual's view of life, perception, how a person thinks, what he thinks of himself, what he thinks of others. It basically focuses on a person's behaviour and interaction with people. Mental health is not the same as emotional health although they are often used interchangeably. This is a very important aspect of our health and it shouldn't be neglected.
